Water Vole Surveys

Water voles receive protection under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended). They are protected from disturbance and it is an offence to deliberately, capture, injure or kill them or to damage, destroy or obstruct their breeding or resting places.

The objective of this survey is to:

» Establish the presence / likely absence of watervoles on site within suitable habitats;

» Recommend ecological mitigation and enhancement where required.

Please note: all protected species surveys and mitigation are subject to seasonal constraints according the each species behavior and biology.
